Subject: [CR]Mystery Bike: Holdsworth, Claude Butler??

I have an unpainted frame and fork that I am trying to ID, I would like to ask the audience please.

The serial number stamped on the BB and fork steerer is 1092475.

It has semi wrap around seatstays (10mm between the tips).

It has Prugnat "S" lugs and slightly sloped fork crown.

It has Campagnolo dropouts with eyelets (front ones have been removed).

The BB is British threading but the shell is 70mm wide.

The steerer thread is British but the crown race diameter is 27mm and the headset threading is not slotted for a keyed headset washer.

It does NOT have rivet holes for a headbadge.

The only braze-ons that it has, are a single chainstay rear der. cable end and a set of water bottle bosses that are made from cut off shifter bosses and are tacked on top of the down tube. I am sure that the WB bosses are an after thought and were added later.

It really has so many details of a Holdsworth that I could make out from looking on line and possibly a Claud Butler.

Any Ideas?

Thanks so much,

Victor Penner
