I've decided to sell a frame I will no longer use to make room for other
acquisitions. I've posted this on Craigslist, please see the posting
for complete details. http://portland.craigslist.org/
History: This track bike was made in France, probably sometime in the 1960's, I don't know its exact history. It was originally painted white and had the name 'Daine' hand-painted on the downtube (I think that's the right spelling, my memory is fading). I don't know if that was the name of the builder or the original rider. It was purchased in France by a friend who was studying there during the early 70's. He bought it along with a matching road bike that was then stolen. He sold it to another local racer whom I bought it from in 1976. I raced it in a few events at the Alpenrose velodrome in Portland and then called it quits on my brief track career. I had it repainted with Dupont Imron in 1977 and used it as a fixed-gear commuter occasionally until a few years ago. This track bike originally came with steel/alloy French cranks (TA, I think), both half and inch pitch, that were traded for a more modern crankset.
Size: Seattube is 52.5cm from center of bottom bracket to top of toptube. Toptube length is 54.0cm center to center. The rear dropouts are 116mm wide and the front fork is 98mm wide.
The sale includes the frame, fork, used up specialized headset, SR stem and roadbars (about 1979ish?), original steel track style bars with Pivo stem, Sugino bottom bracket cups and lockring (no axle or bearings), and an SR Laprade seatpost (80's). I'm asking $250 for it all on Craigslist. If any CR members are interested, contact me directly for more information and pictures.
