Check out the Carlton link on the Classicrendezvous site, there is a photo of a Carlton catalog that has a Catalina in it, you may be able to identify the brakes fromthe photo.

I need the headset model for my recently acquired Carlton "Catalina" frameset. It is s/n U-2992. I would also like to know what type of brakes may have come with this model.
