Subject: [CR]The fork appears backwards on Ted's bike

People looking at Aldo's photos of Ted Ernst (pic of the day), must have noticed that the fork appears to be turned around backwards on Ted's bike. It must have been discussed previously, though I couldn't find anything in the archives. I surmise that it allows the bike rider to get closer to the motored rider for better wind resistance, and since turning stability is not a big issue in that kind of racing, hence an advantage? The photos took me by surprise. I wonder if Ted would care to comment on this if he hasn't done so already. Great to see those wonderful pictures, and the guts and courage in athletics during that era. Thanks Ted and Aldo.
