Steve, I've never seen a Masi with that seat stay treatment. The fishmouth headlugs and stiffner tangs in the fork do look very close to my Model B Cinelli (c.1960?) , but I thought the model B always had eyelets? The dropouts regardless of origin look massaged more than I have seen on any bike of this period, not to say they were'nt filed or milled SOMEtime more recently...it IS 40+ years old after all whatever it is! My Mod B has the hole in the rear hanger for Sport derailleur like your mistry bike, but no oiler cap or drain in the BB. Got a shot of the underside of the rear brake bridge? If its a Mod. B from late 50's early 60's it should have at least a hole or also likely a threaded boss built into the brake bridge underside for fender mounting. Ask your friend what number is stamped into the fork tube.
