Subject: [CR]FS: CID touring bike (Georgetown Cycle Sport)

Peter's post below has spurred me into finally cleaning up and moving out the old bikes I have from a friend--space in the garage needs to be made.

I posted pics (http://homepage.mac.com/bwebel/cycling/PhotoAlbum33.html) of these a while back. They were ridden by a friend of mine in the early 70s and then hung in a garage for the last 30 years or so. The story she told me pretty much coincides with Peter's--the CIDs came from Georgetown Cycle Sport and were made by MKM in England. I don't find any specific marks that would indicate the manufacturer, have no idea what the tubing might be. BB shell on the touring bike is plain, marked "801" from the factory, I think, then a serial number was engraved on later to match the DC registration number on the decal that was put on the downtube.

First one to go is a touring model. Pics are at: http://homepage.mac.com/bwebel/cycling/PhotoAlbum34.html If anybody wants any specific pics, or the larger original files, let me know. Also, please let me know if I have any of the components wrong...I'm not familiar with much of what is on the bike. I cleaned up the drivetrain recently, but did not do a complete overhaul, so the bike still needs some work to be rideable.

Asking price is $350 or best offer, plus shipping if you need it shipped. Anybody able to pick up will get preference over having it shipped.

thanks,

Baird
