Subject: [CR]FOR SALE; comments on Tange h.s. and Fiamme rims; NAHBS

I'm back after a few months away, and although I'm sure no one noticed my absence, I see that not much has changed on the list. Same bunch o' rascals. Re-assuring, in a way.

-Regarding Tange headsets: I recently bought a couple of these from Rivendell. Just like the photo that was offered up for perusal, there is a huge gap in the race/cup interface. Since the bikes these headsets are on sport fenders, it won't be a major problem, however I am disappointed because I had heard so much about how great these headsets are. To be fair, the headsets WORK fine, but it is the only headset I have put into service to have those big gaps.

-Fiamme rims: Chuck, are those rims of yours with the football shaped yellow label 700 or 27 inch? My 60's Olmo Special has 27 inch rims with that label. I was under the perhaps mistaken idea that the football shaped label was only put on 27 inch rims.

-Is anyone from Sonoma County making the pilgrimage down to San Jose for Don Walkers event, NAHBS? If so, may I carpool with you? I still am car-less and I really want to get down there. At least for Saturday.

And finally......

FOR SALE BEFORE I SEND THEM TO THE PLACE I LOVE TO HATE::

8 sets (16 tires) Wolber 700 x 25 clincher tires. NOS from I'm guessing the 70's. Supple, with wide dark tan sidewalls. I'm never gonna use 'em. Photos available. $100.00

2 sets (4 tires) Raleigh Red Dot made in Japan 27 x 1 clincher tires. NOS. Not sure of date. Possibly the 70's. Supple, tan sidewalls. Photos available. $30.00

Raleigh drop bars with engraved logos. 39 cms wide. Excellent condition, logos unblemished. Photos available. $5.00

Shipping charges will be based on location and your preference in shipper.

Hmmm, does this qualify as one or four posts???

Thanks for reading.
