We used to sell a gray plastic head lamp called IIRC Berec? Used 2 D cell batteries? Anything like that sell in the retail pipeline in the UK? (Long gone over here....)

The last time I fixed a lamp bracket to a fork boss I used a shortened crank bolt. It is still on there twenty years later. In the 1980s the Ever ready front light was common. It was designed to bolt to the bracket which prevented it from jumping off like earlier Ever Ready efforts. It is interesting that Ever Ready lights are the only subject that I have abused that nobody has defended. Isn't it remarkable that a company could dominate the market while being held in universal contempt by customers? Ray Green, Brighton
