Hello all, it's been fascinating to read all the opinions and points of view on KOF, art and classic v. modern lightweights. For myself, after owning and riding everything from fifties "master's" bikes to a sub 13 pound bike with magnesium frame and a bunch of parts made from strings and glue bolted to it, I finally settled on a later than on-topic Italian bike as my rider (two of them, actually). They have aspects that I consider art (lugs, chrome, flat crown, nice engravings etc, but with a "modern" tubeset that's both light and rides nicely. Oh, and it's from a "master", or his sons, so there's perhaps cache there. I just like the ride and handling as well as the appearance. But I do have several on-topic bikes that keep me in touch with where it all began. I did recently ride a local builder's frame using the latest Columbus steel, and was very impressed with the ride quality and responsiveness. And it is very light, tipping scales with most aluminum and some carbon frames. That's more than a half cent's worth, so now to my real quest: I'm looking for two Super Record headsets for a couple of the afore-mentioned Italian classics. I got trade bait. I don't need cherry headsets, and I have bearings if the rest is there. Cough em up, fellas! Also need slightly OT aero campy brake levers (sorry Dale). Thanks to all. I very much enjoy the dialog and opinions. Greg Overton Logan, Utah, where we're just beginning to feel our toes after a long winter.
