Yikes.. Chuck Schimdt and I agree on a topic!

"Old guys" ride great. Best pick up road race I had last year was an "old" (and I'm 48) guy on a cutting modern bike and I was riding my '73 Cinelli. And when I stop to talk to old "geezers" they are amazed a "younger" guy is riding stuff they still own but are somehow ashamed to ride. It's one thing to be 63 but to ride a bike you owned aged 17 is just too revealing!

Today is was simply glorious here in Washington.. sunny and in the high 60s. I rode the "newest" bike I own.. my '81 Peugeot and yep she made a real impression among younger and older riders alike. The best to "advertise" riding CR List era bikes.. just ride the damn things. Classic lightweights are "hot" no question. But the guys old enough and weathly enough to have ridden them when there cutting edge are the ones on the Serottas. But I'm still holding my own on classic iron. Barely.
