One of the endearing and irritating things about recumbent triking is the design arena is still wide open. Upright design is positively codified in comparison. There is a guy locally that builds the most interesting things from junk bikes. He has an ultra low and quite fast delta trike with front wheel drive. Talk to the trike theory folks and they may tell you it is a deathtrap, but there lot's more to the story. There have been some very interesing leaner designs.
