Hi, everyone. I'm seeking a track frame/wheels or a complete bicycle with a top tube within a half centimeter of 55.75 cm (center to center), and a sea t tube that's approximately the same. My tastes and budget point to on-topic steel bikes (although I won't refuse something a little newer). I'd prefer a level top tube and 700c wheels, for I'll be racing mostly in massed-start events.

This bike is to be used strictly for track racing (I already have a Masi Nouva Strada that I've converted to a fixed gear for road use) and so a roadbike conversion is not of interest.

I'm afraid I can't exceed $800, so unless you are feeling profoundly generous your pristine 1958 Cinelli or late 1960s Pogliaghi is, alas, probably not called for. And because my budget is so modest I promise not t o hold out for flawless cosmetics and niceties like NJS Approval stamps.

If I don't receive any responses by tomorrow I'm probably going to purchase locally a mid-1970s Panasonic 5000 that's been refinished reasonably well and features good new wheels. I suspect it's a little overpriced but it has the benefit of being available to me by the time racing starts on Saturday.

Thanks very much!
