and my meager input: I agree with Mark. The only data I have is the Palo Alto catalog (*) from '76, which shows the Weyless as being a funky design which is remarkably similar to some modern posts (a good design always survives??). The pic in the Palo Alto catalog is on page 28:

and my personal history is that I own a set of Weyless rollers purchased in my youth, and use the American Classic seatpost on three bikes.
