I've got the frame and the slip of paper that I'll upload picture of yo my yahoo site. Someone sent Lou a closeup picture of Mario Confente's signature from a bike decal. I'm no handwriting expert, but it is close enough to say I can't rule it out. The paper is cheap, almost like a thin piece of wrapping paper like you would get from a butcher, and the ink has faded considerably. I'm studying the frame details, comparing the fork tip and seatstay treatment to pictures of Confente frames on the CR website. Thus far, other than the lack of spade cutouts, this could have been made by Mario, or perhaps I'm just wanting that to be the case. The old man was very interesting. Lou seemed more interested in the canoli and glossed over his stories about racing in Italy.
