As some of you know from reading past posts on this subject that Rauler designed and built the first Arabesque. The blue Rauler with the fancy lugs that I have was in inspiration for the Arabesque. Rauler offered the lugset to Ernesto, but he was in favor of having his own lugset. Rauler designed the lugs, which resemble to some degree the lugs on my Rauler. I believe these lugs were the first to have the small cutout the resembles the Nike logo and that we have seen on many a Colnago since. The Rauler that I have was one of the first built with these lugs, #23, and it was built in 1983. I would think that the Arabeque would have been introduced shortly there after. I have been composing a e-mail to send off to Rauler with hopes of having some questions answered on this subject and if and when an answer comes I will post to the list. I do have a side by side photo of the two lugsets on my photo page for those interested in seeing it. Just go to the blue Rauler folder to view. http://photos.yahoo.com/rauler83

Looking forward to the Cirque in June. Mark Poore Slatyfork, WV
