Boy does that bring back memories. Back in college when the bike was my only means of transportation, I did indeed own a pair of cycling shoes, but they weren't that comfortable to walk in, cleats or no, so they didn't get worn that much. Bowling shoes were the ticket... plain black models that were well-ventilated, nice looking and extremely light. And made for American f eet (apologies to the Europeans on this list, but you guys sure had some narrow feet if the cycling shoes available back then were any indication). Man, I love d those bowling shoes. Pushing the sanity envelope? Not at all... you use what's available and what works. Just like nowadays when I recycle Gatorade and Propel bottles instead of using bike water bottles... the tops are easier to

open (you can twist 'em with your lips instead of having to yank em open wit h your teeth) and the clear polycarbonate never gives the water a bad taste no

matter how long it sits in there, unlike regular bike bottles, yecchh.
