Numb toes are from poorly fitting shoes. Period. Nerve gets pinched, toes go numb. I damaged nerves in both feet from a poorly done set of custom ski boots. Now my feet are really picky. The best result came from a podiatrist custom made carbon insole. These fit into a slightly (very slightly) oversize shoe. (the insole is a bit thicker than the insole in the bike shoes) Toes are singing arias. I could marry that podiatrist. (If I wasn't already married and I lived in MA)

Best advice, if your feet aren't happy get a pro.
