Re: the unknown chrome bike frame, that I guessed could possibly a Dawes...

By now I think many understand that (unlike recommendations by the VCC Dawes ME):

- Dawes did use at times a rear brake bridge fabricated of flat steel.

- Chrome did appear on the rear stays on some models, in some years.

- A multiplicity of lugs were used by Dawes, including some very similar to, if not the same as, those on the unknown chrome frame.

- The seat stays tops were treated differently at times but very many were "sliced, squished and brazed" (the style of which seem to slightly vary however from the unknown frame.)

Coincidentally I had a Dawes repair bike come in yesterday that I took pictures of.. (It needs rescuing from it's obvious decay) in which these above mentioned features may be seen:
