Yes, GB Maes bend 'bars are totally squaresville. You need to find a GB Road Champion (lovely deep drop) or a Strata Tour de France. There are SO many great British "bends" out there... Hilary Stone, Pete Paine have 'em by the bargeload. Pete Paine's GB website has a nice catalogue page showing the GB bends c. 1966. There are about eight in all and that was towards the end. Strata would be best as it's rarer and they had some really nice deep drops which I would think ideal for this type of machine. But a Cinelli bar and stem on a Carpenter Path racer.... forget it mate!
