Shipping a Guerciotti from Canada to Italy? Rather like bringing coals to Newcastle, eh?

Has elicited a request for what shipping to Rome would be and I'm getting insane numbers from the online calculators. CanadaPost tells me $260 CDN, UPS $392 CDN, Fedex $470 CDN (!!!). There has to be a less expensive alternative. Anyone?

Thanks,
