Hi All, I remember a good friend of my (not a movie star) bought an Italian bike at Hans' BH shop, it had a pearl finish with ornate chromed lugs, all Camagnolo, must have been late 60's or very early 70's. I remember the price since it got my attention - $750.00. Don't remember the make but I think it might have Lygie. My friend's Widow gave it to her Brother. I wonder if it is still in Palm Springs?

That would not have been Hans Ohrt with a Lygie, I. Martin Imports (West Hollywood) had those, and in 1972 the "smart" customers bought a full Campagnolo Lygie for $225, then had the parts transfered to their new Bob Jackson framset, with a new BB and a little work a $400. full Campagnolo bicycle, and one could sell the Lygie frame to lower the cost even more.

Cilo, LeJeune, Mondia were other early 70's brands sold, Italian iron was kind of the weak spot for them. First $1000. bike was a Teledyne Titan.
