Thanks Bob, what a fun video!

That was before Eddy lost the weight (and stopped smoking?) He says only 5-10% steel then, now I understand steel frames are no longer produced at all. There are a few funny things in the video, like where he says titanium is stiffer than aluminum (!) And hearing that Andy Hampsten won the Giro on a Merckx, while we all know he rode a Landshark.. But it's well worth watching!

I just ran across this short video of Eddy giving Paul Sherwin a tour thru his factory. At the very end is a neat bit where Eddy shows Phil his hour record bike. He mentioned that it was to end up in a museum in Brussels, so this video is at least a few years old, before the bike went on display at the Brussels Metro stop.

Is there anyone on the list who is familiar enough with recent Merckx production bikes to identify what year this video was made? At the end, Phil Liggett mentions that Johan Museeuw won Parix Roubaix on a Merckx bike that year so I'm assuming the video would either be 2000 or 2002.

Also, they showed a short bit of film footage of Eddy riding in Mexico City. Does anyone know if these were just news coverage clips they dug up, or is there actually a short documentary of the event out there somewhere?
