The Legnano Roma will take a 27.0 (usually?) or 27.2 mm dia seat post -- not sure whether it depends on tubing (Reynolds, Columbus or Falck) or on manufacturing tolerances or on whether someone has reamed it out.
I have only known a Gran Premio to take a 26.4 mm diameter post, but I am sure there are exceptions.
The bottom line is that the correct size is the one that fits properly with any corrosion and burrs cleaned up.
