Ray, This was really an unpleasant task sorting all his cycling collection through. Came across lots of start sheets mostly eastern Counties clubs, Cambridge Wheelers, Southend Wheelers, Colchester Rovers etc. On a Eastern Counties Cycling Association Shortmarkers 50 there are two Lipscombes riding T.A. and Frank. Any idea who T.A. is ? They are both riding for Ingleside. I know there was a Lipscombes at Sunbury-on-Thames who built a lot of tricycles always told they were cousins can you shed any light. Another shop owner riding that day was Albert Hobbs for the Forest. Finally there are too many to feature, Frank Southall is on some of the starts in fact all the cracks of the day. One interesting one is the Southend Wheelers Open 50 October 11th 1931 when they had 171 riders on the start sheet! There all here Paul, Frank Southall (scratch), Purvis, Hallerback, Attwood, Frank Lipscombe, Cave, Carpenter etc. Usual bell and brake must be fitted wonderful days, perhaps they will return when the present love of the automobile is over. Cheers Mick got drenched today.
