Peter: Not criticizing, but you missed two that are not CR members, but that I was very surprised to see, both Phil Saunders and Tim Gunn came all the way over from the UK. As for the country around Copake, it's gorgeous, peaceful, and great for long undisturbed rides. Any CR member who hasn't been to Copake at least once has to go at least one year. I bought a 1937 BSA roadster, with SA 3spd, unrestored with original owner papers from Tim Gunn. Sam Fitsimmons always has a nice selection of early American and a few Brittish lightweights as always.

I got in later than intended, as I was visiting friends in Boston but still got to see a lot of old friends from the area, including Curtis from Via Cycles, and a number of other who's names escape me in a senior moment.

This swap favors early American, and baloon tire gear, and is the warm up for the auction on Saturday. Theres enough on topic lightweight stuff to make it worth the trip. If not the socializing makes up for it! The grounds are kinda funky in a cool sort of way. The last part of the drive to Copake N.Y. is really beautiful, no matter which way you approach it from, this is a cool spot, way out in the country!!!! I set up a table and stayed until noon, before the trip over the mountain into Mass. to visit my folks. Sales were pretty brisk, and I sold quite a few things I didn't need any more. I was proud of myself only buying two choice items! Many CR folks floating around,,, Jamie Swan, Mike Schmidt, Ray Homiski, Steve Kinne, Tom Adams, Eric Elman, Scott Ebersole, Simon/Vicky Firth, Pat ,Sam Fitz, Billy Rounds, Curtis, Joel/Ralph,,,,Norm Lafleur,,,, and I know I'm in trouble already for forgetting a few of you.... You owe it to yourself to give this swap a try. Divest youself of past sins, or indulge to your hearts content in new ones.
