Buy the wonderful new book on Peugeot cycles. Loaded with fantastic phot os. Real racing photos. Up close. And look. c. 1965-66 Tommy and Eddy were sure riding what look like "plain 'ol" PX-10s to me. Every inch of 'em. And
these are not posed shots either. Maybe they were custom made but they l ook every inch stock to me. There are the well known later shots of them on Italian built frames of course and indeed one of Eddy on one with a team mate on a "mere" stock bike. And of course Tommy didn't die on a PX-10 b ut an Italian bike in Peugeot livery... they were at least honest and l eft off the headbadge. I saw at least one stock blue and yellow PX-10 finishing the London-Holyhead in '64
So "mighty".. maybe not. Mighty good value and an honest racing bike . I think so. And you'll get no argument from me on the merits of fine Briti sh frames. I look forward to getting my '71 Harry Quinn on the road althoug h I am not sure that merits "fine" among British clubman. I've given up figuring out what made the grade on the British club circuit from year to year. But you're right... it probably wasn't a French anything.
