My only advice: buy the Peugeot book. And look at the photos. Like the one of Eddy on one of the Masi "PX-10s" next to a team mate on a "stock" PX-10 . If you can't tell the difference between these two bikes, I give up. Honest. Chalk and cheese. Fork rake, design, shape, length of chain st ays, no head tube badge and so forth. Eddy's looks rather like the "PX-10" th at Simpson died on. But then, be fair, and see the other real racing photos of Eddy and others racing "real" PX-10s in real competition in the same book.
I am not talking lug welding but the basic geometry of the frames. And y ou can tell that. It's not that arcane. If you think you've seen THE bike
ridden by a racer, you're short changing yourself. I suspect Tommy had dozens in his stable over the year. Even raced more than a few. And ev en, egad, one or two "real" PX-10s. Apparently the little museum to Tommy in
his home village has one of the "PX-10s" he raced in 1965 Paris-Roubaix.
Anyone seen or photographed that??
