I think they were made, in some variation, for more than one year, although they may have appeared for only one year in the US catalogs. I have an early 70's TdF with original decals and these DOs that is clearly several years older than 1976. However, although these DOs have the honeycomb design, they have no derailleur hanger nor any evidence they ever had one.
