Hi Jay, Welcome to the list. I too ride a 52-53cm (c-c) sized frame, and find that they show up all the time on Ebay, and often on the list as well. Old bikes in Italy for sale on Ebay are often in this size range too, because a lot of people over there seem to have been smaller back then. Just remember to clarify with the seller if the measurement is take center to center, center to top of top tube, or center to top of seat lug (and in the low of the side curve, or the high of the lug point). I've been stuck with too small a frame more than a couple of times, because of these discrepancies in measurement technique. Also, if you haven't already received offers by this time from some listmembers, you can post a "wanted" email ... that is, if you have some idea of what you want. In addition to the size you mentioned, things like country of origin, era of build, type of componentry, level of race quality, and amount of money you might be willing to spend given the right bike, will help other members narrow down the offerings to your preference. When items come up for sale and you're not sure about them, there are usually some very good insights and opinions to be drawn as well, from an inquiry to the list. But, be aware that it shines a spot light on the bike or frameset in question, alerting otherwise unknowing individuals and potentially bringing more bidding opponents into the ring! Good luck ... and enjoy!

Dear all,

I am Jason (Jay) LePree and joined the list yesterday. I own a 1982 Miyata 310 (set up with upright bars), and a Orange and White Rambouillet set up with lights, racks and fenders. I am interested in owning a sportier bike, and I hope that by reading through these posts, I can find a great looking racer.

Do most of the subscribers here try to outfit their bikes with all or nearly original parts?

Where did you find your bikes...garage sales...ebay? (I need a 52 / 53 cm frame and I am concerned I will not find one in this size.)

Best to all,

Jay LePree
