IF anyone would STILL like to have a copy of Spinning Wheels, I WOULD be willing to make some moore copys, $15,00 including postage, if I get 5 or moore takers I will do it again, NOW to a previous posting, about politicaly correct bikes??? I have for some reason?? allways tried to build my bikes with parts of same origin, make and country where possible, eventhough when racing in England in the 50s I did NOT do this!! I got what I could and the cheapest and LIGHTEST I could get, NO matter where they came from or the make. I have now this Italian Vittoria frame, that I am very impressed with, OF COURSE I tried to build it up with Italian parts, Campag Gransport group, Cinelli stem bars and saddle, Ballilia Brakes, Nisi rims, LUCAS bell, (well I could not find an Italian bell!!!), Last week I went on a ride with a vintage group (Bikes not riders!!) Mike Kone looked at my bike and said he was also impressed, looked at the rear gear braze on and the rear drop outs and said "I think these are SIMPLEX and you would do better with SIMPLEX gears!!" a previous post pointed this out that Simplex rear drop outs work better with Simplex gears and NOT Campag, So I have a 1950 Simplex Catalouge looking at the copys of gears etc, I see, THAT ALL THE SIMPLEX GEARS CHAINRINGS ETC ARE MARKED "MADE IN ITALTY!!!" am I going bonkers?? I THOUGHT (once again very dangerous at my age) SIMPLEY WAS FRENCH???? So Mike maybe right, my Italian made frame, wth SIMPLEX should have ITALIAN made Simplex gears etc??? anyone have any thoughts??.
