Just for the record, when I went to the master list to remove the list member I referred to in my message last night, I saw that he apparently had already removed himself. So, technically, I haven't booted anyone off in a long time! :)

Thanks for all the supporting mail in this tough situation.

Subject: [CR]Was: 1 1'8" top tubes. Now: Frank's going away...

It's late a night and I write this with sorrow and anger.

Frank, you are, of course, completely incorrect about this top tube business. You are Rip Van Winkle awaking to a world in which you do not function well. The case for oversized top tubes in certain frame applications is so solid that I will not bore others by addressing it. It is a fact.

What I must address however is your deportment on this list. I have warned you privately that you must be civil and not attack people personally, but you do not appear to have any self control.

So now you join the short list of anti-social people who just could not behave well enough to be part of our community. I said I write with sorry in that I KNOW you (and the others past) have valuable contributions to make and you must have moments (I assume) when you are pleasant and socialble. Therefore it is sad that you are not able to be civil.

Final comment: You say: "...So much for free speach which my nephew is defending in Bassra. " This is of course another cheap shot but I will pray for your brave cousin. As a Vietnam veteran myself, I know the risks many are taking for our freedoms. To live in a decent society requires many sacrifices... and obligations.

Stiffer now nothing about the bleeding steering did you ever ride a bike as a clubmen? I don't think so all text book and no experience riding. Sorry you are very poor authority in my book and no one I know in the old British club scene has really heard of you or can remember riding with you. None of this matters but I have asked three of the foremost British frame builders what they thought of your assertions that a 1 1/8" top tube improves steering and they wet their pants. I know they are getting on but this was not through incontinence.
