While we're on the subject of randonneur bikes and MAFAC brakes, anyone installed the TA mini front racks that mount to the MAFAC brakes? Does one need longer pivot bolts, or are the standard MAFAC bolts long enough the handle the extra thickness of the rack?

Joel,

The semi-mass-produced French bikes definitely are outside my realm of experience. The parts on your bike seem to indicate late 1940s or early 1950s - both the "sandwich" Mafac cable hangers (I think they went out in 1952) and the Stronglight Randonneur chainrings point that way.

Good luck,
