I cannot address the re-thread issue. Although, for separating spindle from crank arm, have you tried a press? Sometimes, a home bench vise can be adapted if the vise is has a large enough maw.

anyway, is there a way to rethread this so to make it functioning? i thought i read someone mention that it could be rethreaded to fit a stronglight extractor. i searched through the archives, and could not find the post.

thoughts and recommendations?
