Well, I'm just starting to recover from my sleep deprivation ( a little late Wed., a little later Thur., 2 a.m. fri night, then 2 a.m. sat. night) so this Cirque is still a blur. My main gig was The Auction. Although nervous at first (I am naturally shy. Yea, I know, youse don't believe it), I pretty quickly got into a decent groove and the end result will peek out at just over $6,500.00 raised for Operation Smile. Thank you EVERYONE ! Dale, Johnny Baron, Harvey Sachs, Jamie Swan, Charlie the Tuna, Peter Gilbert, M.J., Wayne Bingham, Steve at the shop (got the donuts)and especially Mike Schmidt (Consigliare BVVW), this was impossible without youse guys. I've been really privileged to get this opportunity to be altruistic once a year and I LIKE IT. More ideas are gonna be instituted next year and, if all goes well, The Charity Auction will continue wherever the Cirque may go. I really DID NOT pay attention to the bikes on Sunday; I prefer to carouse and cavort with the folks I will miss on Monday. Then, when I see the photos on wooljersey or wherever that others have taken, I say to myself "That bike was there?" The seminars were excellent, even though I was a bit snoozly; my chin must have hit my chest 15 to 20 times! Next year I'll be asleep by 1:30. A.M.! The rides were good fun and my Saturday front blowout just after a downhill left could have been A LOT more memorable! Rode that 49 Singer more this weekend then she's been ridden in the last 50 years I bet! Nice bike. These are the fastest 4 days of my year. Always different, always SUPER enjoyable. I don't know much about what the future holds, but my room at the Battleground is already reserved.
