No, I don't think it's Brampton, nor English. The 1916 catalogue speaks of that, but it's also speaking of 1/2" chain as the latest thing. However, The Great War was in full swing then, and I think the Brampton factory had more pressing orders than making chains for export, so there was a running change and the bikes were supplied with 1" roller chain.
