True. And this is the reason there is so much dispute over what part(s) changed in any way in any given year, what part(s) came into the picture in any given year, and what part(s) were eliminated in any given year.

I would suggest adding footnotes or reference notes to anything on the timeline that cannot be "pinned down" to an exact date. How do we know the cranks described above came into existence or were produced in 1958 if Catalog 13 was year 1955 and Catalog 14 was year 1960?

Why Campagnolo did not publish a catalog every single year is beyond me--jack-ass marketing to say the least. I find myself becoming incredibly frustrated reading through those catalogs that don't cover every year.

The "Holdsworthy AIDS" are a much better resource than those Campagnolo catalogs. The "H-W AIDS" are complete with all the exploded diagrams and small parts numbers for every Campagnolo item. And what's better is that the H-W A's were published every single year from the late 40's to sometime in the late 70's; (Hilary Stone would know the exact dates.)

There are other resources out there--websites wherein the serious collectors will have 3, 4, or even 5 different versions of a derailleur made in a given year.

I'm all for the Campagnolo Timeline, and I know Chuck has spent a lot of time on it. But for any of us to say what's on it is "written in stone" would be like wearing blinders...........
