Double chain ring 52/42 (?) Rear Cog = 5P @ 14-28t Friction

Situation: In the repair stand, the 42-28 combination successfully engages. On road test, the 42-28 combination does not engage; the chain files over the 28t cog teeth yet, does not engage. I do not know if previous owner engaged this combination.

Particulars: 1974 Raleigh Super Course Mk. II Huret Challenger Front & Rear Mechs. Stronglight 93; 52/42

Yes, limit screw full open to avoid interference.
