Subject: [CR]Listmeister wants to buy a Brooks saddle and

Not that I want special attention BUT I just received a way cool 1978 (?) NOS NIB bicycle*, sans saddle, toe clips & straps.

I would love to purchase for a fair price a small rivet Brooks Pro of that close-to-time manufacture and toe clips (size L) of Italian manufacture as well. Obviously , ideally, in very nice condition or (cough!) new would be neato.

Anyone help me out?

(* Photos will be forthcoming once goodies to complete the bike are located...)

THANKS!!!!

Hello all,

I was given a Raleigh Competition, and after doing an archive search and a perusal of the Retro Raleigh site, I still have some questions.

According to the retro site, my competion appears to be a 1969, based on the color. Even though there is no parts breakdown, the parts on my bike look similar to what is on the bike in the photo. I couldn't find more detail in the archives.

Now, according to the number on the b.b. I have a 1967 bike.

I realize that this has been gone over before, and I can hear the collective groan, but can anyone help me get closer to the date of manufacture, or at least give me an idea of the parts group that the bike might have had? Replies off list okay.

Here is what's on mine:

Zeus cranks and I'm guessing b.b. Weinmann c.pulls with weinmann levers and it looks like white Carlton hoods. GB stem, SR bars. Dark green color, Competition decal on top tube faded but legible. No tubing decals. Probably flaked off over the years. 27 inch wheels, red label Super Champion front rim, blue label Gentleman rear rim with normany lg flange hubs Fancy nervex lugs including b.b, with chromed head lugs. 27.2 post. Derailleurs wrong for the bike, I'm certain. Round Raleigh Nottingham England head badge

Thank you!
