Was in Beijing for a few days last week. The waves and waves of bikes flowing though Beijing 25 years ago have disappeared, replaced by cars and traffic jams.
Had some time off work so I spent some in the tea market and some looking for bike shops. This was after spotting a Cinelli SC outside the Botanical Garden. The Cinelli had all modern parts as it was "impossible to find old parts".
Beijing has modern bike shops, well equipped with the latest and greatest. Could not find anything for my classics except plastic zip ties specifically designed to hold water bottle cages, perfect for my Hobbs.
