by the chimera of down market clubmen cycles, the
Raleigh spent the cache of Lenton on Robin Hood, the
Raleigh's down market brand.

Frankly, its kind of spiffy looking for what it was. And as seems often the case with the Raleigh's mass market products, better than much of what it competed against.
