Subject: [CR]Rauler - Cinelli dating - Raleigh - Scheeren

Hello, This is my first contribution to the list. I have followed the postings for the last two months and the amount of knowledge and passion of ist members is just incredible. I have four subjects to start my list-career here. 1. Rauler For all Rauler-Riders: check out the following ebay auctions from a german dealer offering Rauler-stuff, such as a Jersey an a couple of pantographed chainrings from Campa, Sakae and Gipiemme, all NOS. He als has some other interesting stuff and is a pleasure to deal with since I bought from him twice. At one point he also offered some ALE-Rauler bottles nos.

2. Cinelli Bike I have a Cinelli Bike which I got from a little bike shop for the price of some repairs done since the former owner did not want it anymore. My greatest luck and a dream come true. I would like to know the production date. The frame Number is 4723, it is a 58 cm ( C to C) frame with a B-model fork. It came with mafac brakes and Universal brake-levers, a Brooks B-17 saddle, Suntour Honor - Spirt (yes Spirt) shifter-gruppo, campa NR-cranks (not early ones) and maillard hubs.Steel non marked head set. The bar and stem was replaced by the bike shop due to damage in a garage by a parking car. The colour is a greyish-blue metalic, decals and front badge are original. What puzzles me is the frame having simplex dropouts without a rear shifter eyelet but fender eyelets. Chromed lugs in the fron, chromed drop-out section front an rear. No holes in the lugs no BB-oiler. One of the top-tube cable clamps is an early open-C version. There are no braze-ons except pump-pegs on the down-tube. The frame has thin world champion stripes withe the script "champion du monde" on the down tube and on the fork stays. No tubing sticker but sone residue of stickers in the place. I could post pictures if someone can tell me where. My guess is that the frame is older than the componentry it came with. I suspect it originally might have been equipped with universal center-pull brakes and Campa shifter gruppo. Can one of you experts tell me more? What tubing is it? What stem an bar would be period correct? Cinelli steel badged? I can send pictures individually.

3. Raleigh Bike I also have a Raleigh bike which was made, according to the frame number, in 1975. It has Raleigh 20-30 tubing but no model-Sticker on the top-tube. I suspect ist a record or lower. It came with simplex gruppo, weinmann-brakes, Carlton hoods, GB-Stem and bars, non marked three piece alloy hubs featuring Gnutti skewers and Nisi-Toro-tubular-rims, 36-4-spoke. It has Stronglight cotterless cranks. I suspect that the wheels and the cranks were "upgraded". The colour is light blue and white (steerer tube and down tube sections) Can anybody verify the model and ist original setup?. I did not find a catalog on the net featuring this specific bike. I will leave the bike mostly as it is because it is just fun to ride, but would like to know the correct version. How good are the Nisi-Toro rims considered? I see them around old bikes here occasionally and they seem to be light but nobody could tell me what reputation they have.

4. Scheeren bars I have bought a pair of NOS Scheeren bars at a good price. When inspecting them I found out that the clamp diameter is 27mm instead of 26.4mm. Does anybody have or know of a stem in that size? I would trade one of the bars for a matching stem or old Cinelli bars for the above mentioned Cinelli bike. I have another pair of bars from Scheeren used with a Titan Steel stem which came on a 1952 RU-FA Sport Bike. The diameter there is 26.4mm. So whats the story about 27mm bars?

Looking forward to knowledge input
