Subject: [CR]FS: Early 60's Legnano frame and fork

I have for sale what I believe to be a late 50's to early 60's Legnano Mod Roma Olimpiade frame and fork with Campy dropouts. Seat tube is 59cm center to top; top tube is 57cm center to center. Beautiful headbadge is still attached. 27.0 seat post diameter and what I believe is Columbus SL/SP tubing (noticeable rifling on inside of steerer tube) Bike has an old spray can paint job and will need refinishing. Chrome seem intact although a little thin in a few places. Two small dents - one small ding on the outside of the left chain stay near the BB, one small ding on right side of top tube near seat lug. Serial number was removed sometime in its life. Frame has some surface rust on the exposed metal but nothing that can't be cleaned off. Forks may be slightly tweaked but definitely can be straitened. All of the damage described can be repaired during a refinish by any reputable frame builder/refinisher. This is a very nice candidate for a restoration of a very desirable bike. If it was my size I would certainly keep it!

The frame came with several old parts that allow me to make my date estimate. The frame came with the 2nd version of the Campagnolo Record road headset first issued in 1960, open 'C' quick releases on the very early Phil Wood hubs and a Campagnolo stamped Books narrow rail saddle date stamped '58 with matching Campy seat post.

I purchased the bike for the mixed bag of parts and hope to sell the frame to recoup some of the money I spent. I had no idea shipping a full bike cost so much these days?!

I am asking $150.00 for frame and fork plus actual shipping cost from NC to your address. Pictures available upon request. Paypal friendly.

Please contact me off list if you have any questions. If not sold by the end of the week it will go on eBay. Thanks for looking!
