It certainly is a good candidate for a fixed gear conversion.

Bear in mind, that people on this list are likely to encounter several different Atala bikes marked as "Gran Prix". The ones from the 1960s were made from butted tubing and came equipped with Campagnolo NR deraillers and Record hubs, although they used Magistroni cottered cranks. These bikes also had the distinctive TTT "Gran Prix" stem.

There is a later version that came with Campagnolo Valentino derailleurs, Nuovo Tip hubs, a cheaper cottered crank, and were made from heavier tubing (labeled "Tullio".) The stem looked like one of hte more crude Pivo parts, but was probably of Italian manufacture.

Both of the above had Weinmann brakes.

I _think_ there is another version, available between the two mentioned above. Or perhaps it was the very last version; or perhaps that part of my memory is failing...
