Hello Steve

Answer no to your opening remarks , never , in all the years. I've heard it put around as th"poor mans" equipment in some club circles. I'm not certain when the first Weinmann accessories became available only to say that I had their brakes and rims on my bike in the 1950's and continued to use them through the years and on some on my bikes of today. If snobbery comes into the subject anyone using Campag equipment in the 1950/60s would been looked on as better off financially than the majority. Many riders like myself could not afford expensive equipment during that era and only having one machine for domestic and pleasure use was a problem on small wages.

As for E.bay prices well they are not the true value of much of the goods in my opinion. Sometimes I feel the type of the older generation you heard this from are letting us oldies down with such comments. They have no grounds whatsoever to make such remarks.

Best to use a deaf ear in the future! Weinmann products , from their budget goods to the top range they have always used by young and old and continue to be collectors/restorers items still used even to this day.!
