Scott, Afraid I just some negative info for you: Mafac's standard "Criteruim" model was intended to have spacing with clearance between pivots of 63 mm to 68 mm. - for wheel sizes of 700c or 650B. Their "Cyclo-Tandem" model, for 650B wheels: 65 to 70mm. And, the rarely encountered "Jacky" with a smaller overall dimensions (and really intended just for junior sized bikes and wheels): 54 to 62 mm.

Don't know if there previously was "standard" canti spacing... until perhaps recently? ~ Now that Shimano has essentially gained world domination of the MTB market, I suspect they may have forced a de facto standardization on the OEM market - to fit their own brakes, of course.

Good Luck! Bob Hanson, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA

Have a puzzle with my Stan Pike build out, bought a set of IRD Cafam brakes, they're made for much wider stud spacing. So I'm looking for some brakes that would work. Front stud spacing is 55mm ctc, rear is 62.5mm, any ideas vintage or modern is ok.

Is there such a thing as standard canti stud spacing ?

Tom A. do you remember what brakes you were using ?
