Actually, I believe that the "red" versus "blue" coloration distinction was one adopted by French rim builder Rigida with respect to 700C versus 27" rim sizing. To the best of my knowledge, Super Champion and most certainly later Wolber rims did not adhere to this convention.

Don't the 27" Super Champs have blue labels, and the 700C ones red labels?
