Do any of you fellow list members know when the World Champion striping pattern (blue - red - black - yellow - green) was first used in professional cycling to identify the world champ in the peleton? Having seen the design for years on various bikes, caps, logos, jersey collars, etc. I would love to have a better understanding of this design's origin.
