Definitely not a Specialized, I would say. That appears to be the frame made by Tsunoda that was sold under a few different labels with the AX components. Compare to the Vista Aero Team here:

Up close, they're not finished that well -- at least the one frame I've inspected. I'm sure the sale price reflects the good condition Dura Ace AX group. My casual eBay observation suggests a recent increase in DA AX values.

Interestingly, I do recall an eBay listing for a purported Specialized Allez/Aero prototype built with this group within the last year. I have no idea if that was legitimate or not, but I would think that would be a lot more desirable. I have seen photos of a similar frame built by Jim Merz (formerly of Specialized), so maybe that earlier auction was the real deal.

Of the AX bikes I've seen, Dale's Tomassini is by far the most interesting and beautiful. See:

Shortly after I discovered this list a few years ago, I missed a chance to buy a Zunow built with these tubes and group (Tange Aero, Dura Ace AX) for $495. Black. Good condition. Honest. I've been kicking myself ever since.

Sigh.

Is it a given that that bike is a Specialized?
