Yes the problem with model airpalne paint and the like is that they are very soft. I found that if I touch up with these, then wax with a high quality paste wax as I prefer to do, the touchup paint will rub right off. One of the best touchups is nail polish, which dries very fast and very hard, and will not rub off when waxing. If your bike is red, you are almost guaranteed the perfect touchup, as nail polish of course comes in every conceivable shade of red. And it is surprising the number of colors other than red you can match. Another nice thing about nail polish is that if you screw up the job, it removes easily with nail polish remover (AKA Acetone) without disturbing the enamel base coat.

Testers is OK -you can buy harder paints if that is a factor. Hobby stores often sell touchup paint pens- for models and the like. Some brands are actually made by Testors withot saying so. I used the Testors ones to touchup cable eyes.

Well McCormick Paint Works Co if in your area matches paint in a very hard rust resistant enamel- only about $4 a pint.Gloss black is always easy to find of course. Great stuff to have. Oh if you need black in gloss or flat I like the Birchwood- Casey line of touchup pens which is available mailorder too. I used it on my CD player but I think its intended for firearms etc.- durable stuff too.

Paint touchup pen sources: http://www.paintscratch.com/ or http://www.expresspaint.com/ or good old rustoleum pens: http://www.rustoleum.com/Product.asp?frm_product_id=520&SBL=1
