My point was that the MAFAC half hood dates from Paris-Brest 1948 according to the Rebour article and my guess would be that the Vittoria <<Tour de France "Bartali">> hood would date to 1948 Tour de

France. I have no idea when the Vittoria <<Tour de France "Bartali">> hood went on sale to the public.

Interesting to me that Vittoria, an Italian company seemed to have almost the entire rubber hood business judging by the following list of brakes (countries) they supplied hoods to:
